Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Not to long ago i posted a thread about my little duckling who sadly died because of a pneumonia.
Two days later a young woman stood at my door with a duckling in her hands. She had found him/her at the side of a busy road and kept it in her flat/apartment for two weeks.
By hear-saying she found me and told me she wanted to give the little duckling a beautiful live and hoped it could stay with me.
I didn`t need long time to think it over so i said yes.

Here`s the little one. I believe it`s about six weeks old now...

First day was a bit difficult with my flock, but now they get along just fine...:)

What a blessing to have this lil one join your family . It is beautiful, Drake or duck?

Thanks for the compliments. You guys are funny!

Alaskan, they have markings on top of their heads, which I just asked about and was told it is called capping. Not sure why it happens. Both parents are pure white. Here is a better view:
The capping simply means they are not PURE whites. It's just a matter of genetics.
Heterozygous white muscovy hatch with yellow down and a colored cap. They feather out this way too, but once they get their adult feathers they are solid white.
Homozygous white muscovy hatch yellow, no color cap, and stay white as they age. They also have pink bills and feet.

I had some white with black and chocolate caps hatch from a trio of black and white pied muscovy. I wasn't expecting any whites, but that goes to show the variety of genetics the adult trio had. And from the white babies, (They all got sold as I am not a fan of white muscovy) you can hatch other colors. Their offspring won't be all white as they are carriers of so many genetics like their parents. But pure white muscovy will hatch only pure white offspring.

Haha, thanks y`all!
Question: he/she is very hungry and eats a lot! I give lots of chicory and endive, but also mealworms, special duckfood, fruit, and everything he finds himself in the water.
I`m thinking now he`s becoming weak in the legs... Should i give him less? Please some advise...

Muscovy lover, this one is for you...

Great pictures! what is the duck food? niacin helps with legs, i use broiler starters here so that avoids needing to add any, could be he is lacking, there is info in this sticky.. i have never supplemented so my advice wouldn't be any good.
