She is not quite as keen on peas, for some reason, but I did crush a cal.citrate tablet and dipped the worms in the powder. I'm not sure how much she got that way, however. I might have to give it to her with a syringe. When a duck lays a soft egg (not just when they first start to lay), I add 250 mg calcium citrate to a couple tablespoons of thawed peas and feed them to the duck, then follow with 100 mg a day for a few days afterward.
I recall that when she had niacin issues, the b-complex I got at the drug store was not quite effective. I then went to the farm supply store and got the stuff for cattle and her issues resolved in a few days. Would Calcium Gluconate work similarly? Would it work more quickly? Or is the drug store cal-citrate just as effective.
