Muscovy laying soft shelled eggs

When a duck lays a soft egg (not just when they first start to lay), I add 250 mg calcium citrate to a couple tablespoons of thawed peas and feed them to the duck, then follow with 100 mg a day for a few days afterward.

She is not quite as keen on peas, for some reason, but I did crush a cal.citrate tablet and dipped the worms in the powder. I'm not sure how much she got that way, however. I might have to give it to her with a syringe.

I recall that when she had niacin issues, the b-complex I got at the drug store was not quite effective. I then went to the farm supply store and got the stuff for cattle and her issues resolved in a few days. Would Calcium Gluconate work similarly? Would it work more quickly? Or is the drug store cal-citrate just as effective.

Oops! I had 2 threads open and I mixed them together and posted here. Amiga probably has no idea what I'm talking about! At any rate, the info is good to know. I'll pick up some Durvat Calcium Gluconate tomorrow. The Durvat B-complex I used last time worked like a charm.
