Muscovy Lovers whats your favorite color?

Would they be called pied? They're really cute. It'll be fun to see if the babies get black on them. I can't believe how much they change. Some don't seem to get their final color for a couple of years. I just love the whole process.

these are our 2 muscovies, Donald and Susan (thats what happens when 3 and 4 year olds name them!). Donald is blue and white and Susan is ? and white? I will get new pictures of them when they get home from the fair, but I dont know what color she is. They were about 6 weeks old in this picture I think. Any ideas what color she is?they have both lightened up alot since then.

Hello, well i have 6 teenage muscovies and they are barred, i think my favorite color of muscovy is lavender, but i have a question, when my hens start to lay, im going to take the first couple, but can i just let them sit on it and let they hatch them out? Im asking because i have a canal right next to there pen and as they cant get out the babies would be able to get right through, because we have lattice the kind that has the big diamonds as the hole, and i was wondering would the babies venture away from mom and go into the canal or out into the yard were they can get out into the nieghbors yard and the neighbor hood, and the canal isnt right up to shore, i have a sea wall that is 2-3 feet tall...just wondering

I don't have a favorite, and that's my problem.

I have this condition where I need to have one of every color that I can. Thankfully, I am not aware of all the possible muscovy colors yet (hard to find info on the web about their colors and genetics), but if I ever buy Storeys Guide to Ducks... My condition will probably flare and I'll order hatching eggs or buy more birds. DARN!

I have solid whites, color crested whites (white with patch of color on head), blue pieds, lilac pieds, chocolate pieds, solid blacks, solid blues, solid chocolates, lilac barred/pied, chocolate barred/pied, blue barred/pied, blue fawn/lilac/fawn barred (not sure what color she is, waiting for her to moult out her old feathers)...

I also just hatched out my first silvers that I"ll be keeping on 8/26, out of a Blue/Blue breeding. I have three, and they seem to vary in darkness of the pattern at this age (still down)... so I'm not sure if there is variation in color with Silvers. Guess we'll find out!

I'd REALLY love a black barred solid, and a chocolate barred solid. I guess I'll just have to make more next spring, and keep more breeders.

In the first picture, the two blues and the black in the top row look like drakes. The bottom two (white and black pied) look like hens.

Yes, they're from you. I was surprised too. Even when they hatched we thought he was going to be chocolate. Sure is pretty though.
