I am in Virginia, but every country I have lived in has some sort of animal shelter. If they can't take a duck they should at least be able to find resources

Our shelter in our county only takes in dogs and cats. That’s great if yours does.

Not all shelters will take any animal. The one near me only accepts dogs. No cats, nothing else. When asked where to take a feral cat, their official recommendation was to shoot it. It would be nice if shelters all accepted any animal, but that's not the case.

We do have a water fowl rescue here in our part of NC Carolina Waterfowl rescue. They may know of a rescue in other parts of the country they are on line.

Yes, if it's female, you should have no problem placing it if you advertise. Drakes can be a little trickier, but not impossible.
