Mushroom Hunters?

I pretty much hunt mushrooms year around but I live in a temporate climate with lots of rain so it makes it easy!

I think you can at least look for them any time

good luck! even if you dont find any edibles they all make great pictures if you are in to that!

Thats just great. I live near a national park and we have an over-population. It is very common to see both these animals on a daily basis around here. I bet they have eaten them all.

DH took a day off work and we went with friends. Of the 4 of us, one guy found 3. We were soaked to the knees, too. Bummer.

Check out the link to a youtube video of my favorite, and very accessible morel patch yesterday morning.

You can even hear the roo in the background, I was late letting them out to range and he was not happy about it haahaa

I know! We are going into a monsoon season in north east Kansas! I don't remember it being like this until recent years.

A friend of mine from Lawrence (a fellow chicken person and avid morel hunter) called around 6pm to complain about the downpour, it was beautifully sunny here and we are just a bit over 30 minutes or so south of town. Hopefully that will persist because I'm planning a garage sale for tomorrow and Saturday and I still need to get out and pick those morels, that little patch from the video is just one of many here at the farm.

I heard through the grape vine that the Larryville chicken folks have secured the repeal of a pesky city ordinance!!! Way to go!

Well, once the city attorney got on the televised city commission meeting and stated the ordinance as it was didn't disallow chickens, and thus there was nothing saying one couldn't have as many ungoverned as one wanted, they had to put an ordinance in that said *something.*

Fortunately they didn't feel they should start a war with the chicken underground that was already in place. I know there are at least 40 chickens in my block, and I'm just a block off Mass. Street. It's a good thing we didn't have to mobilize and protest!!

I don't know enough about morels and conditions in which they'll grow...is it likely I'll find any tomorrow with another inch having fallen today? I love them soooooo.....and I've not had any for two years.

I want to go looking down by the river, but don't know if this weather will preclude them being there waiting for me!
