My 2 hatchling Welsummers - **7 Wk Update**

Did your Welsummers just suddenly get those big combs, or have they been slowly developing? We have four Welsummer chicks that are about 19 days old, and all they have for combs are tiny little pale ridges...

I would say the combs have been slowly developing. The one whose comb is larger and red seemed to be obvious first. They have really grown a lot it seems in the past week.

I appreciate you all chimming in here in unison, LOL.

WOW, not even "1" person to give me a glimmer of hope??

OK, well, as Sharon mentioned to me in a PM, at least NOW I'll have "options" when it comes to a rooster, LOL.

I hope Sharon's eggs give me a little more "variety."

Hi all,

I thought I would update my post by putting some pics up of these two "hatchlings" now 7 weeks old.

Here they are both together. Bigger one on top, smaller on bottom.

Here's the bigger one.

And the smaller one.

It's kind of funny but the bigger one is starting to try his hand at crowing. He hears my silkie crow in the morning and he puts out a rather pathetic croak, LOL.

I guess I should have mentioned that I wasn't looking anymore for whether they are boys or girls. I suppose it was obvious to everyone at 3 weeks, LOL. I'm just trying to update how they look now.

I sure appreciate the pics of the pullets. I have two others that hatched last week. So far it looks like they are going to be pullets!!
