That was a bargain! A great place for Zane to stay indoors.
I was visiting a family's home that has a rescue, they have an indoor rooster, he's huge! He cant walk, so he has a "wheelchair" that he stands in, very clever, that the owner made. The rooster is a very large White Leghorn, and he is very friendly.
It is so great to see everyone having so much heart for their animals, and I am glad Zane is getting to come inside when it rains! I love his playpen/indoor rooster house.

Well, I never thought of that! Interesting. Obviously, since it isn't strong enough to resist predators, it requires supervision, but it would be great for younger chicks to get out on the ground for awhile, if all other enclosures are occupied. Zane stayed inside for a couple of hours after he seemed too hot out in the separation pen. He doesn't seem upset or confused by it. Of course, he's been handled constantly and in and out of the house, so he's not really in a strange place. And he likes to watch TV-seems fascinated with it.
that is so perfect. Now I know I need to be on the look out for one. I think this idea is WAY better then a pet taxi for an inside "hospital" situation!!
I agree that it will come in handy for more than just my current situation. When Zane no longer needs it, it will stay safely folded in the bsmt for when I have a sick or injured bird. The vinyl pad on the bottom wasn't even torn and is easy to wipe off and disinfect.
