My sisters a vet and she dosent do birds but geese ducks and exotic and a few wild birds so im lucky because theres no other vet that does geese near where i live but the vets you went to could atleast have done something to the poor gander! I just dont understand! >:-/
Just a thought, but is there some sort of on-line vet available?

Not that I am aware of. My white African goose is looking a touch worse this afternoon, despite continuing to poop out the egg that busted inside of her. Chances are good I'll be taking my goose to my vet's house this evening. If I can remember, I will ask if he knows any online sources.

sorry to hear about your goose getting worse. I do hope your vet can help her somehow.

No, thank goodness. I had that happen to a goose last year and she passed within 12 hours of first appearance of anything being "off". This is the opposite. She had a shell-less egg break inside of her. She has been pooping yolk/egg whites for almost 36 hours and appears to be fighting peritonitis. I have now moved her inside the house for closer observation. My vet is hoping the shock of the move shuts down her laying cycle.

So sorry Iain Utah that your goose seems to be getting worse. Hope the vet can help also. As far as an online vet, yes there is an ask the vet questions. I went on there a day or so ago to talk to what was supposed to be a professional vet that would answer your questions, and they make you think that you can talk to them for free, but when you get to the point of getting on there and ask your question, a pop up box comes up and lets you know that you will be paying 30-40 dollars if you are satisfied with their answer. The same thing they do on the ask a professional about the value of your antique. When that came up, I just got out of it. I can't afford to pay 40.00 for someone to answer a question. I'm barely able to afford any medication. So the online thing is a sham, if you ask me. I did get the medication, the Penicellin G fast acting kind and the needles and was ready to try the shot, but they are in the pond and can't get them out. Going to have to wait until they come out to be able to get hold of them. They are really smart, and they know something is up why they won't come out. There's no way to get them. Tried to coax them with some lettuce that they love, but wouldn't even budge for that. Don't know when I'll be able to get ahold of them. Husband is gone now also, so have to wait till he gets back. Hope I'll be able to get them tonight sometime, if not it will be morning, but it is very important that I get Henry asap as he is the worst of them both. He is very weak now and if something isn't done by tomorrow, I don't know if he will make it to wait any longer. Hope I can at least get him tonight. Utah, that neobac thing you mentioned for Scarface's face, (the ointment stuff), would they have that at the tractor supply too? I forgot to ask about that cause I forgot to write it down and was in such a hurry to get the stuff and get back I just forgot to ask. I guess I could call them tomorrow and ask them they are open on Sundays. Thanks for all y'all's help. You are all better than any online vet would be, in my opinion. I pray that I will be able to get to Henry before it's too late.

Good luck and many prayers for you and your goose!
