My African geese (2 ganders) are sick what do I need?

I'm sorry Scarface is so depressed, but glad he appears to be recovering. Hope you can get him either an adult female or a couple of goslings soon!

Snow is 100% healthy and so far has not attempted to lay another egg. I am pretty sure she will be cleared by my vet to return to her group on the pasture tomorrow and hope she gets through remainder of laying season without another problem.

I'm so glad that Snow is back to herself and I hope for you also that she doesn't have another problem. I know that must be very concerning to have to worry about that every time it's time to lay an egg. Don't understand what causes that.
Yes, I'm going to try to get Scarface someone to help him with his grief. One of the Farm Supply companies are getting some goslings in around April 18th, but I really wanted to get him one a little older than that. He's never been around any babies before and I don't know how he will like that. I'd really rather have one older than that. Mama wants to get another male, cause she said we don't want a yard full of geese and if we get a female, she will be having babies and soon we would be over run with geese. I don't know what to do. I kind of would like to have some geese eggs to paint and put in my Etsy shop. They are really pretty painted, so we would not really have to worry about that. Do people eat goose eggs like they do chicken eggs, aren't they just bigger eggs is all, or are they different taste or something? Don't really know what to do about getting him someone, but gona have to do something, he's so pitiful and my heart hurts so badly for him.

Yes, they were really very happy and have been for many years. Scarface is still talking about it and calling, looking depressed bending his head down a lot. He is eating though and drinking the medicated water, so I'm glad about that. His face is looking better. I got him some turnip greens yesterday and a melon and he really tore those turnip greens up. Haven't given him the melon yet. Been putting fish oil on his lettuce and put some on the greens too. Been trying my best to find him another companion, but I really wanted one that's grown and not a baby, but can't find one so far.

I looked on the Buy Sell Trade thread and on the Re-Homing thread and nothing. If anyone can find an African goose or gander please let me know you can PM me or post on the thread, I'm watching it. I really would like to get him one asap, he is so lonely and lost. I can't stand it. I was hoping to find someone in Alabama but haven't so far. Maybe someone knows how to search better than I do. Really would appreciate it if y"all would keep an eye out while you're surfing and such. Thanks for asking about Scarface.

I was considering that, but I know Scarface would be very mean and protective of her even more than he was about Henry. He wouldn't let anyone get near Henry! Henry wasn't like that though, but Scarface would chase you and bite you if he could to keep you away from Henry, so I can imagine how he would be about a female and babies. Mama didn't want to get a female cause she said we would have a yard full of geese in no time, and that would be a mess. We really couldn't have a lot of geese, and I wouldn't want a lot of them either, we couldn't take care of them properly if we had a lot of them, really 2 or 3 is enough, really 2 would be the best since our pond is not very big and the pool we have for them is only big enough for 2 at a time. I think it would be too much to try to have more than that. I would like to have the eggs though, to decorate and put on my Etsy shop. Haven't ever heard of people eating goose eggs, but I recon you can eat them like chicken eggs, but don't know. Don't know anything about that, or if they taste the same or what. Mama also said that they would be nesting somewhere where you couldn't find them or get to them and you couldn't get near them while they were and it would be a bunch of trouble to have a female. I would like to have a female, but after she got through telling me all of that, I thought maybe that might not be a good idea. Maybe you couldn't sell them or give them away like we have to do our roosters. Getting harder and harder to find homes for them every year. Gotta do something for Scarface a mate of some kind soon though before he starts going down from depression.
