My Araucana & Ameraucana eggs! Now with PICS ;)

WOW!!!! That is jusy crazy weather!!!!!!

So glad you & your flock are ok. Sounds like you have a lot of clean up work.

We had a down pour of rain last night, but that is it.

I need good luck w/ the turkey eggs. 3 out of 6 were squished from shipping, so I never expected these last 2 to even develope. Thanks!!!!!

Man, I am having the hardest time keeping my humidity up

I imagine it has something to do with the ac sucking all of the moisture out of the air, but my family will kill me if I turn the ac off in this heat

Well, I'm doing my best to stay on top of it. So far no pips.

I had the same problem w/ getting my temps up the first few days , I think b/c the a/c being on. I suspect that's why these turkeys are a little late.

Now that I think about it I had a little issue getting my humidity up also. I wasn't sure b/c I didn't have any wicks for the the wet bulb, so I had to use my" Flunkers"........I mean "Flukers" to gauge the temp/humidity.

I bet it will bump up when the eggs start throwing some heat off from starting to hatch.

I'm going to send some more hatching vibes your way!!!!!!

OMG!

My son just brought me an egg!!!!!

Oh yeah, he managed to get into the incubator and pluck out a single egg!!!

Luckily everything else is fine... put the egg back, it was still nice and warm! So far no pips anyhow... so hopefully no harm, no foul

STILL no pips..... today is day 20.

I know I am impatient... but, do these breeds take the full21 days and maybe then some? They have done nothing so far, no pips, no wiggles

I candled some on day 18 and they were alive and kicking......

I'm so stressed!

It's maddening. isn't it!!!!!

As I recall it took my Ameraucanas FOREVER to hatch, even after they had pipped.

So hang in there!!!!!! Keep us posted!

My fan died

So humidity was out of control for a bit.. I think I have it close to good now. I candled one of the eggs (the one my son had pulled out of the bator... and it peeped at me! So, they are still alive at least... or at least that one

Today is going to drive me to the loony bin, I swear

The Ameraucanas play by the rules.
They know they are supposed to hatch on Day 21....
And they will....
Day 20 is like a guest who shows up early....
