Are the tufts quite obvious when they are first born or do I have to wait a few weeks for those to grow in?

Those are great pics! You should see the tufts one they fluff up if they have them. If they're tiny ones, you may not notice them as easily, but full tufts are pretty noticeable. And if they're single tufted, it is usually on the left side.

I'm keeping an eye out for tufts. But so far can't quite make anything out.

#2 is drying out a bit and is lightening up! Maybe not black after all? Doesn't look like my other black chick that I hatched out in November. But, unlike #1, it does have a dark tint to the upper portion of its legs.

I don't think the last two eggs will hatch, but I'm going to leave these chicks in the incubator until tomorrow to give them a chance to dry off, and I will keep checking the other two eggs.
