Well, I made a tough decision this past weekend. I decided that I really couldn't keep 8 hens. It was too many. I had originally figured for 6. So I found a lady on craigslist looking for hens, and contacted her.
I gave her two of my pretty ladies. One of the Ameracaunas and one of the White Leghorns. In exchange, she is going to give me 1 or 2 butchered roos. She got roos by mistake when she wanted hens. She can butcher them herself, apparently.
I think that I can afford to give 6 hens the time, care, space, and good food they deserve easier than I can do for 8.
Oh I just went out to close them into the henhouse, and when I peeked in, they were all up on the roosting bar together. It's the first time I've seen them all get up there together.
