Thank you! I think so too! I hope she feels better, however she isn't looking too good. I hope she pulls through though.

awww!! that's so SAD!!!!! i'm so sorry!! sweet, poor lil' thing! i had an EE arrive dead back in march, i couldn't even see her in the box! i had taken every chick out and still i was missing an EE! and then....i lifted up the little straw-like-pad that they put in the box and she was cold and stiff! i felt so bad for her! she must've been spazzing out and crawled under the straw thing and then she couldn't get any warmth cuz she was all alone!! so i'm glad your Nelly had love from you. but still, poor nelly! i'm getting 6 chicks from MPC coming next week! yea!! thanks for the beautiful pictures you shared with us! they are absolutely TOO cute!!!!! i LOVE chicken toes!!!! they are one of the cutest parts of their body!!

Yes it was very sad! She was my little sister's favorite chick too. She was very sweet! I'm sorry to hear about your poor little EE, it's so heart wrenching when one dies. I was so scared to open the box when I picked them up just for that reason, that there would be a DOA. Congrats on your new ones! I wish them a safe and quick journey! And thank you, I can just sit for hours and watch them play and just be adorable (which they are quite good at!)

RIP Nelly x

Thank you. It was very hard, especially on my sister. The good news is though is that Meyer Hatchery is going to send Nelly's little sister along with two other chicks as "replacements". While the new girl won't replace Nelly, it was still very kind of them to send a replacements. So I will have pictures up of them when they get here as well.

I'm so sorry about your Nelly! I've only had my gals since Tuesday and I'm completely smitten with all of them! I'd be heartbroken to lose any.

How'd you get them to hang out so calmly in your open hand to get pics like that? Mine would have hopped out with a protesting squeak!
