My babies wont stop chirping!

they'reHISchickens :

If they are chirping annoyingly, something is wrong.
Are they cold or hot? Are they under the light or tryign to keep as far away as possible?
Do they have food and water?
Happy chicks are generally pretty quiet.

I respectfully disagree. I ended up with a set of chicks the day before Thanksgiving. My kids school had an "Ag in the classroom" presentation...the chicks used to "educate" the kids were from a large production chicken farm and obviously couldn't go back or they would be killed. They're my little rescue project. They were in my living room for a week, warm, fed, watered, plenty of room, but still chirped NON-STOP. They've since moved to the laundry room and they only peep when we go in there. OP, maybe just move them to where they can't see you all of the time?

Chicks will always chirp, but the sound of distressed chicks is different. Louder and a very piercing sound.

Are they warm enough?

I have 13 day old BO's in my brooder right now. And if they are cold or scared, they peep REALLY loud. It's so sad because they are calling for their mama. But once the temp stabilized, they are happy as can be and just make little peep noises as they chatter to each other.

You might want to try warming them up. Get the heat lamp nice and low so they have a spot that's 95 degrees. I even rolled up an old black tshirt and put it in there so it gets warm from the lamp and they like to snuggle up on the warm shirt.

Yeah, but non-stop chirping can be a bother to any non-chicken person. High-pitched distressed or just regular chirping, it can be annoying. I vote let the babies move to the bathroom, launcry room or some where....don't put 'em out until they're ready.

Well the OP DID hatch them knowing that they would have to stay in the house for awhile. Putting them in a place where you can't hear them doesn't solve the problem, it just covers it up.
