my baby duck got attacked by my dog

It doesn't matter but, what kind of dog got a hold of him. Whats your lil Ducks name?
his name is yellow belly black smith ik it’s a stupid name but he has a yellow belly so i thought it suit him and the dog was a mutt i hate to say it but i think it was my dog she never really showed any interest in them until here lately she’s the one who led me to him to me under our porch she seems sad or guilty but the neighbors dog may have got out again bc it’s always trying to eat the duck and we have to run him off again over and over

Stay calm for your lil guy.
Cut all of the feathers off to expose the entire wound.
If you have access to Chlorihexdine that would be my first choice for cleaning a wound.
Then coat the entire area with a Triple antibiotic oint. Slather it on to keep the wound coved with it and keep that open flesh moist.
You might have to go to a store to get the Triple Antibiotics oint. You will need A Lot of it.
Hold him if he is use to being held and keep him quite and in a warm place. If he will drink, give him some water with a lil bit of sugar in it.
I know your very sad but put him in a lil area and turn the lights off And let him be. You've done your Best.
If tomorrow you can get to the store, buy Triple Antibioric Oint and Chlorihexdine.
If you don't cut the feathers off tonight, do it tomorrow.
he’s starting to drink water and move his head is that good thing?

we brought him in and got the heating lamp set up and put some type of ointment on him that they use for chickens when there feathers are ripped out my mother looks at him there actually wasn’t any deep puncture wounds from the teeth of the dog it was just his feather and some skin thank you so much i was freaking out and i think he has a chance of making it i can’t tell you how thankful i am you replied
You are doing a Great job.
Yellow belly is a good name. As it describes him well.
Keep him hydrated with water. If he will eat, that's good too.
I'm glad your dog showed you where he was. Please don't be mad at your dog. Most dogs can't help themselves. You will need to keep an extra eye out and keep him safe for now on.
If your duck makes it through, my biggest concern is the oil gland back by the tail area. This glad is very important to ducks. It keeps his feathers and skin oiled up. Ducks must have their Oil Glands, otherwise, they can't repel the water.

Thanks everyone who has helped it’s been a short period of time but good news is he is drinking water bad news is my mom found a new okay on his neck and it’s bleeding idk how bad it is she won’t really let me look bc i’m so tour up abt it but she seems a bit worried and that makes me really scared i’m just gonna pray for him and see if we can get a vet appointment😕
