I'm jealous

. I want a Harlequin so bad, but my mom says that's WAY too big, so I got a lab yesterday instead. But that's ok, too

Is your puppy going to live inside? My mom thinks that's crazy too, but my Lit teacher last year had a Great Dane in her house, full grown, and he was no trouble. She used to bring him to school, which was awesome. I just know he was blue and his name was Purple Haze, Haze for short.

When I'm off on my own, I'll have one lol. In my house.

He's so sweet and cute! I do miss the puppy stage! For the first year you'll have him called all kinds of breeds, the only one I remember w/ my merle was "dalmatian mixed w/ what?" which suprised me! W/ my harl it was definately dalmatian, even w/ the cropped ears! I think my white had them stumped, but I did get pit bull once, and weim a few times. And my sister had someone tell her yesterday that she had a really nice lab (her's is black). But once he's grown most people should recognize him for what he is. Enjoy him while he's little, it doesn't last long! How much does he weigh right now?

... someone had mentioned that he might not be a purebred because they'd never heard of "blue merle" in a GD??? Blue Merle happens to be a coat pattern, and Border Collies, Collies... heck, even the random German Shepherd can have Blue Merle patterning... Of course he's purebred, and I can't help but notice he's incredible! You, my dear have one lovely Blue Merle Great Dane puppy! I am very jealous!

LOL I saw a really cute t-shirt with a Harl Great Dane talking to a cow (the black and white ones...I don't know my cows LOL) and the Dane was saying "Do you ever get confused for a Harlequin Great Dane?"

Oh, yes, Urban Polish, he is a definite house dog.

Great Danes aren't really equipped to be outside dogs anyway. He is doing wonderful on his potty training, too!!! He whines to tell me he needs to go out, he just can't hold it for more than a few minutes once he knows he needs to go right now. And congratulations on your Lab. They are very smart, sweet and pretty dogs!!! My brother had one when we were kids and he was just perfect!!

Yeah, Haviris,I can only imagine the breed guesses I am going to hear. Right now, with him so little, no one has a clue it seems. When I say Great Dane I get some VERY strange looks then "well, how old is it". LOL He weighs 12 pounds. Well, he does today!!! LOL

I think he is pretty stunning, but I am afraid I may be just a tiny bit partial!!! LOL Actually I think someone said that a lot of people think Merles aren't pure because they have never heard of that color. But then, around here, there are so few Great Danes, it is hard to find someone who knows what they are anyway.

I am having trouble getting over how cute he is.

This baby is a total charmer!!! My mother is NOT a dog person (can't stand them, in fact). We have been out at her house the past two days and of course took him with us both days. At first she was saying things like "yes, he is cute if you are into dogs". Now it is "Oh he really is sooooooo pretty" "He sure is a smart little boy, isn't he" "Oh my goodness he is a sweet little thing" "ohhhhhhhh coochie coooo how are you Hanabal" ROFL. She could NOT resist him!!!

He's the cutest thing EVER! Look at that sweetie pie face! What a good baby you have! I love his coloring too. Pretty, pretty!

My friend used to have two great danes in her house. They were total lap dogs. Every now and then they would get on a tear and knock all the furniture over, but most of the time they were couch potatoes.

They did chew all four corners off of her brand new square dining room table. She now has an octagonal table!

They were great dogs!

LOL....I am finding that he is a definite chewer!!!! We got him a ton of stuff to chew though and every time we see him with the wrong thing we are all scrambling around grabbing a toy to hand him.

It is definitely going to be interesting having an almost 200 pound lap dog!!! LOL His father seems to have a thing for sitting on the toilet.....the lady I got him from sent me a pic of him sitting there and it is just too funny!! You could almost picture him with a magazine.
