Actually, I have just reread your initial post and realise that it was 24 hrs since you found him and no change or progress. That is not good at all! I'm also not terribly sure why you wrapped his wing around him, was it just hanging loose? Can you describe where he was and what he looked like or take a photo of where he was, so it adds some context. Could a predator have got to him at that location.... stoats and weasels can get through very small holes and often drink their blood....are their any puncture marks?
Bruising colouration can take a day or two to come through so I would not necessarily expect to see bruising that early.
I think he may be on his way out if he is not showing any signs of improvement after a day. He needs water at least to survive, but if he is not fully conscious, he could choke if you try to syringe it into him and clearly dipping his beak will not achieve much. Tubing water into his crop might help but the trauma of it might just kill him with him being so obviously sick. It might just be kinder to let him pass. He looks reasonably peaceful.
You might want to think about getting a necropsy done on him if he does die to establish the cause. The body needs to be refrigerated as soon after death as possible and then, if you advise us of where in the world you are, we might be able to suggest an appropriate facility.
I'm sorry, I may have given you false hope, only to rip it away from you again.
I'm in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. Unfortunately, I thought it was a long time without food or water. He doesn't get much off syringe. He had a tongeful of mashed food and that's all since yesterday. Have to find someone to put him down.
Fluids are more important than food but once they won't eat or drink when offered, I usually euthanize them. I'm so sorry.
I do my own necropsies. If you are interested in sending him off, perhaps someone on the Canada forum would know where you can take them and how much it might cost. State agricultural labs are the usual place or sometimes veterinary colleges in the USA but things may be different in Canada.
