My husband came home from work and was like, they are so UGLY!!

I was so upset with him.....then I found myself (being a new chicken owner) reassuring us both that they are going through the "stage"........the boy is really blotchy with balding spots and super thin I guess because they are growing so fast!!

I know they are going to be the prize of my flock when they are grown!! So poop on him!!

Oh boy, you did it now.... I have two baby Jersey Giants in my laundry room waiting to be put under mom tonight. I couldn't stand it when I saw your's, they are so cute. I sure hope my hen accepts these, she just hatched her 2nd baby today, 1 yesterday, don't know if the other 2 eggs will hatch but I have a surprise for HER tonight! ha She's going to have some "big" babies in there! They are 2 days old and little fluff balls. See what your pictures did?! Sharon

What color did you get? Blues???? What type is your hen that you will try to put them under??

My JG's are black, I think...should have asked feedstore but as 2 day olds, they have mostly blk with little yellow on them. I slipped them under mom, standard blu Cochin, last night about 1am. It was funny watching incub. babies see all that fluff and run into/under/over her until they settled down. She was just fine with them. This AM they were using her like Disneyland, love standing on her back, jumping down and run full out into her. It's halarious to watch. I'm concerned momma hasn't gotten off nest YET! This is day 3 for the fist egg hatched. I'm afraid they will starve if she doesn't get up soon. This is her 1st hatch too!
