My Blue x Buff Orpington -- PICS!

    This has got to be one of the most beautifully colored birds I have ever seen!!! I bought him/her at a show and they told me it was a cross between a blue Orpington and a buff Orpington. When I bought it, it was under a week old and still had all its down and was blue with just a little bit of red faded neatly into his/her head. I got it because I was really curious as to how it would feather out. I love this baby now! Roo or pullet, this baby is a keeper! I think I want more! [​IMG]

    Have you seen my BigRed? He is from a blue orp x buff orp breeding pen.

    We tried a harem of buff orp girls to duplicate his color and never got closer to red than a very brassy gold. He is in with some black girls now and I have eggs from their pen set. - We'll see soon enough what he produces.

    cool.....ya...i dont even do orpingtons....but i have this thing for blues and thought, "WTH!" So here I am....dreaming about more orpingtons lol

    you know, since there isnt a name for this color, cuz its not a color lol....i think we should call them, Exotic Orpingtons!

    There is a name for it. Non-standard color.
