When our house is really cool I will put bread in the oven to rise but we don't have a pilot light. I just turn on the electric light in the oven and it gets it a little warmer than the room.
Also, if you let your bread dough over rise, handle it gently and don't cut it. It really doesn't need cutting if it is fully risen.
