My chick can't close her beak

I have new chicks that are about 4 weeks old and one that is about a year. The chicks are in a closed in area with chicken wire so the older one can see them but doesn't have access to them yet. However, 2 days ago it seems she got a hold of one of the chicks by the beak through the chicken wire and ever since then the poor chick can't close her beak. I've removed her from the rest of them and brought her inside where I seemed to clean off dry blood on either side of the beak and I've been feeding her with a syringe but I'm not sure what else to do for her. I close her beak for her but the minute I let go it pops open. Any advice would be great, thanks

Can you post some photos?

From your description, it almost sounds like the beak is dislocated. I'm not sure how that could be fixed. You may be able to ask your vet for some help.

She is, I think(hope) I've been periodically giving her some from a syringe.
