I have a chick called Pippin and whenever I pick him up or stroke him, he makes a high pitch like “scream” sound. Do I just need to get him used to being picked up and get him to trust me or shall I just not pick him up anymore so I don’t make him stressed???

Depends on your goals.
How old is this chick....and is it a 'he'??

Thankyou, the article was helpful and

The chick is about 7 weeks old and I think he is a “he”
My "he" hated being picked up from the day he emerged from the egg. Forcing it on him did nothing to improve his opinion of it.
Are you trying to make him a pet or lap chicken? What breed is he?

Post a pic we can probably tell.

Good question.

Well I think he is a Legbar and I don’t want him to be like a lap chicken but I just want him comfortable with me when I pick him up if something happens etc
