My chicken is barfing yellow liquid non-stop and has liquidy yellow stool. She's having trouble breathing. Why can I do???

She barely ate any food but she drank a LOT of water. Too much in fact, I thought her crop was overflowing so I turned her upside down again and began to empty her crop. But she panicked and thrashed her head and aspirated some of the vomit!!! I didn't know what to do so I let what was in her throat drain, then set her down and she started gasping for breath. It's been about 29 mins and she seems to be breathing evenly now, but she is still panting and gurgling. I feel so bad and it's all my fault and I'm worried she won't survive 😭😭😭💔💔😰😰 Is there anything i can do at this point??

I wish you luck maybe give her some time so she doesn’t die of stress

I warned you in two separate posts and another poster also warned you about turning the hen upside down. What's done is done now. It is a somewhat hopeful sign that she isn't dead already.
I didn't turn her completely upside down, I did what you told me to do. Sorry for not clarifying. It was when she shook her head violently that she inhaled the water. I feel really bad and I know that it's all my fault, okay?

I’m sorry you’re going through this ❤️ you did what worked the first time and expected it to work again and it didn’t go as planned. Stuff happens. Just keep taking good care if her. Sending hugs ❤️

I'm going to clarify this issue one last time for you and for all others who are following this thread. That is, causing a chicken to vomit the contents of the crop is exceedingly dangerous. In fact, here is what I said back in reply #5.
I'm going to suggest you do something we tell our fellow chicken keepers never to do because it's very risky. But this is an emergency.
This was one time advice because it was an emergency because your hen was at risk for aspirating the fluids that were overflowing her very full crop. I made it very clear that this was not to be done as a common practice. That quote did not say, "empty her crop whenever you think it's getting too full."

There is nothing you can do about it if your hen aspirated fluids into her lungs. If that happened, she will likely develop pneumonia. Yes, and she may well die from it. There is a chance that the fluid went only a little way into her airway, just as sometimes happens to you when a drink of water or soda goes down the "wrong pipe". You cough and choke for a while and it finally clears out of your airway. We can hope that's all that happened.

I believe I've done all I can to help you. You have all my instructions. You might want to go back and re-read all of them. You've finished day one of the flushes. She needs two more days to complete the treatment. I think you can handle it from here.

Thank you. I will tell you that I was not emptying her crop as a "common practice". Her crop was overflowing again and water was drippling from her beak and she was coughing. It was an emergency. Thank you for all of your help, Azygous. It was more to me than you realize. I will update you on her condition later and tomorrow. Good night for now!

Hello! Wanted to give an update on Fiona. She lived through the night and her crop emptied most of the way! Her breathing is fine today and she ate a little food and water. Another successful flush too. She is sleeping in a puppy carrier in the basement tonight so I can keep a close eye on her. If her condition worsens than I will bring her to the vet. I'm keeping an eye out for pneumonia.

Thanks for all of your advice! I'll send some pictures of Fiona in the morning 😀
