My Chickens layed 6 EGGS! (4 Hens)

I'm Confused wether this is Normal, Yesterday (easter friday) My Chickens layed 6 EGGS! All In One Day i have 4 hens. And Today (got 3 eggs), Nugget Starting Clucking Really Loud and seemed in pain got out of the hatching bit and there was 2 eggs! Is this normal?

No, it's not normal. It generally takes about 25 hours for an egg to go from mature yolk to freshly laid egg. So, you should expect eggs from each hen every 25 hours give or take. Two at a time is a glitch in the plumbing and fairly unusual.

I have a friend who has 13 hens and gets 14 eggs each day........

A hen laying two eggs in one day is not that uncommon, especially in younger birds. Just keep an eye out for any issues such an egg binding and prolapse. It should not be happening in the same bird too often. There have been quite a few posts on BYC on the topic.

Hmmm I've always been told 1 egg a day. My 3 ladies take turns on the nest. Cheering the egg-laying along as each egg is dropped in the nest. Even my rooster adds his cheers!
