yes she is acting normally no scratching or flickingDefinitely looks infected. Try putting colloidal silver in it (only a couple drops). Is she acting okay otherwise? I mean, is she scratching her eye or flicking her head?
I already use doxycycline and ciprofloxacine powder woth water for 5 days but no improvement. She has some purulent drainage (pus) in her eye, and there are some marks under the eye, that might be peck marks. Is she having any signs of respiratory infections, such as sneezing, gasping, wheezing, or nasal drainage? Do you notice any bad odor from her face?
First I would remove the pus from her eye, and then flush it out with saline. An antibiotic ointment, such as Terramycin or Ciprofloxacin eye drops might help. Here is a video on removing pus from an eye:
Mycoplasma gallisepticum, and coryza are common causes of respiratory diseases that can cause pus in the eyes. Drugs like Baytril, tylosin, and sulfa antibiotics may be used depending on which disease is treated.
Are you in the US or elsewhere?
What kind of saline solution is that? May i know the name of the product??Did you notice the yellow pus coming out of the eye? Your hen has a bad eye infection. It will begin to heal once you gently press around her eye and expel all of the pus. Then flush the eye very thoroughly with saline solution, which you can get at Walmart in the pharmacy section where the bandaids are.
Last, you want to go by the feed store and buy some Terramycin eye ointment. Use it in her eye until the eye is better.
