I'm sorry your girl isn't feeling well.how did it turn out? did the skin grow back over? I'm curious because one of my hens got a similar looking injury about a week ago and I was wondering about what I can expect with it healing. we think with her it was one of the roosters responsible with her (one of them is such a horny thing sometimes he makes our drake seem like a gentleman), she seems to be healing well so far but she's not going back out with the flock until after we get rid of the roosters.
she's doing better, I'm just a little worried about any complications an exposed skull could cause in the long run if it doesn't grow over. I've had special needs birds before, but not from something like this.I'm sorry your girl isn't feeling well.
I just wanted to say that the OP hasn't been back online here since about a week after she posted.
