My chickens will be on the news tonight and I will too!

There has been a lot of flooding here in Oregon and a lot of animals have been displaced by the flooding. I have decided to open up my home as a place for a few of these animals to go and I am hoping to get others to open up their homes as well. I have also created the Facebook Group, The Soggy Animals of Coos County to help spread the word and get things organized better.

I sent out a press release about this and the local news came and interviewed me to help spread the word around better.

I am offering to take in chickens, sheep, goats, and baby animals like calves, lambs, etc.

Here's a link to the Group, http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Soggy-Animals-of-Coos-County/258999660839999?v=wall.

Thanks for the support guys!

Funny, though how camera shy my chickens suddenly became when the news was involved.

Thanks again you guys!!!

The story aired last night on the local news at 6:00 and again at 11:00.

There is a flood warning in effect again for the Coquille River, which is about 15 miles south of where I live. The flooding is not too bad yet, but it stands a chance of getting out of hand with the 2-5 inches of forcast rain for the Oregon Coast.

Here's a link to the video for the news story.
