My chicks are making sad sounds

They are on their cage, but they keep making sad sounds, I already gave them food and water

they stopped making the sounds when i moved them to dirt,i think theyre dust bathing in it.

i couldnt tell their age , but from where i buyed them, he said they are 14 days old, and they stayed here 2 weeks+ 3 days, so the total is 31 days i guess,
i also have 2 quail, not just these, im looking for a bigger cage for them, can you help?

It's not good for them or you to be inside, their dander can get you very sick. They need to go outside asap.

Its probably best to put them in a coop, and even get some more friends for them (even just 1 or 2 more) if its possible for you.

How do you know they are sad sounds and not contented sounds? Chickens "coo" when they are happy and comfortable, talking to each other. When they are cold, hot or uncomfortable they chirp fast and loudly, it is almost a screech or scream that is very distressing to listen to.
