The PO just called me to say my chicks are there and to pick up. We have 2 foot of snow! I told the lady I didn't think I could get out of my drive way and she responded with "well they are going to die if you don't come and get them"

DH never made it home from work yesterday due to the snow and is at work right now. ( an hour away ) and I can't get in contact with him. So I tried to get out my driveway and am now bogged in the snow, and mud. I can't get the truck out.

I called the PO back, got the same lady and told her I was now bogged in my driveway with nobody to help me get out. She said they probably weren't delivering mail today as she was afraid to call anyone in with the weather. So here I sit with a bogged truck that is just 200 feet away to clear and drivable roads and a DH I can't get in contact with.

Those poor chicks.

My neighbors are stuck too. We are rural and have long driveways. The nearest taxi service is an hour away. We've only lived here 18 months and I only know 1 person in town and they are without power so couldn't even keep the chicks warm and would be unable to get them to me. I'm 13 miles from the PO. We were told 2 to 4 inches of snow on the forcast.

I am just sick to my stomach. I contacted Bishopschickens who is as rural as I am to see if maybe they can get out their driveway. The problem is the driveways, not the roads. I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Hi I wonder if you post the name of the town where the post office is maybe someone could help .

this just leaves me speechless (almost)
like it would kill the post office employee to go a tiny bit out of her way to make sure the chicks stayed warm? maybe even give them a drink of water?
what is wrong with people that they can't seem to summon up just a little bit of simple human kindness or humanity?

Could you get them to deliver them to your mailbox and be waiting for them there? If you were my neighbor I would snow blow you out. I wish you luck.
