My chicks are stuck at the PO ~ Update pg 3 photos pg 5

Kind of ironic the P.O. expected you to pick them up today but had no intentions of delivering mail.

I just got a hold of a neighbor with a 4X4 truck who is going to come and get me ( they live back behind my place ) and take me to the PO

Bogged down in 2-4 inches, I assume it is not a 4 wheel drive truck, do you have lots of weight in the back, rear wheel drive are terrible handling, and get no traction with weight in the back.

Yay! That's great. Hope you have them home safely.

Your post made me glad we just got a tractor (not taht we ever really get snow but if I ever get bogged down by sand I can get out ....)

Good luck Sharon!!!

I know exactly what you are going through. We moved into the boonies (rural) in 2004. The first three winter seasons we had here, I tried shoveling and snow blowing. I usually couldn't get all the way down. We've got a wide 180 foot driveway. My kids missed too much school because we were trapped in our driveway and unable to get them to the bus stop just down the road. And yes, the road at the end of the drive was always cleared. This year we made sure to talk with the plow guy and forked over extra cash to ensure he would plow out our driveway too. This has all but solved the snow/long driveway issue for us. I hope you can find someone to set up a driveway plow service for you for next season. And I hope your chicks are OK!
