I'm sure with the weather, the neighbor isn't going to show up instantly, besides the fact that she may leave her screen up (I do all of the time, granted, I'm also on a lot of the time too, lol).
As far as being bogged down, I think that they were only supposed to get 2-4, but ended up with much more than that.

Anyways, good luck with those chickies! Please update us when you get back and get them settled in.

She said that they got 2 feet of snow and were only expecting 2-4 inches.
I also leave my screen on as I don't sign off each time I leave the site so you can't really tell when people are on or off, and she said she was waiting for the neighbor to come and get her.
Good luck Sharon, I am happy you have some good neighbors to help you out.
We got slammed with snow today too.

Great Job Sharon finding a Neighbor who could help!! We have the same issues with our driveway, the drifting is terrible and often have to go out into the surrounding fields to get out after a snowstorm! Soo I can completely understand your situation!! Hope you enjoy your new arrivals and we look forward to pictures!!!

People in warmer climates have to understand snow in any amount of inches in the southern states is cause for bog downs, unlike us who live in the northern tundra of the states they are not used to dealing with, driving in,or even walking in any amount of snow and for Va to get 2 ft thats huge,
I grew up in Fla and when we moved here to NH 40 + years ago, I couldnt figure out why the sand was biting my hands,( I was young to say the least). I had never seen snow, so I can totally sympathize with a snow bound southerner.

There's been many a day when I have had to dig for an hour or two to get to work..........

ETA: Thank goodness I don't work anymore!

I'm pulling for you! Please be sure to come back and post about how it all turns out!

My sister-in-law-to-be lives in Richmond and sent us a video of the snow this morning and it's crazy! 18 inches and still coming down! Good luck to you!

p.s.to the person who asked about the rear wheel drive... I believe 4x4 means 4wd, so I think they should be good!

I'm home with chicks. All the chicks are fine and happy. When we got to the PO my mailman was there and said he could have got them to me. He saw the name on the box knew they were mine and has a 4x4 truck.

GRRRRRRR!! At least I have them now and they are fine.

My neighbor was so lovely. Her hubby tried to get my truck out ( unsuccessfully ) while we were gone. After we picked up the chicks she asked if I needed anything for the kids and I asked if we could stop at the gas station to get a gallon of milk as we were completely out. The gas station was out of milk so she turned around and insisted on taking me to the grocery.

Once we were home she helped me give all the chicks water and get them set up in brooders ( I wasn't expecting them today! )
Oh and you guessed it, as a thank you she will be coming back to get the chicks of her choice.

I guess the lady answering the phones just didn't feel like being at work today... still not an excuse. I would have been livid.

I'm glad to hear the chicks are A-OK though! What a wonderful neighbor.
