My chicks are stuck at the PO ~ Update pg 3 photos pg 5

So nice to hear that there are still some wonderful, understanding people in this world. Unfortunately, that Mailwoman will one day have a "Day of Reckoning". I believe it comes to us all, & I'm certain you're not the only person she has treated so uncompassionately. The least she could have done was assure you that she would do her best to see the little fellows were warm & watered. (Maybe she could have even taken them home & learned firsthand what a sweet batch of young biddies can be like. Precious is what.) God help her, she needs it.

Yay, happy outcome and you found out you have a nice neighbor, bonus! So glad for you, let us know how the chicks are, and how many, what you got, which ones the neighbor's gonna pick out and pics of course!

Whenever people post a thread about their chicks being stuck somewhere in transit I feel so bad. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get chicks by mail. My heart couldn't take it! Luckily our local feed store is more than willing to order specific chicks/ducks.

As far as the PO lady... It sad but it's the same everywhere. At my work (retail) there are some people willing to go out of their way for a customer, and others who will just do the bare minimum. And even though I have my bad days (today was one!) you can't take that out on an unsuspecting person! For example, today a customer was complaining about everything, really loudly and unreasonably. You know what I did? I went to the back, took a minute came back and smiled. Other people don't need to deal with MY bad day, and you didn't need to deal with HERS. Especially with adorable chick's lives hanging in the balance!

Hmm. I guess you work for the post office?

At this point I think their motto is take your money, responsible for nothing.

They are Buff Orpington and EE. My neighbor came back with her husband and got 12 chicks. She insisted on paying me for them even after all the trouble she went to this morning for me to get the chicks. Of course I only let her pay less than I bought them for.

Thank you for all the wishes about getting the chicks. I was really annoyed at the lady at the PO, she was quite mean. Of course my mailman was just lovely when I talked to him there.

My poor hubby still isn't home from work and I'm not sure if he'll get home tonight. Probably a good thing if he does spend another night in a hotel near work as he had no idea the chicks were coming. LOL LOL

I dont know if this info would help any one now but our neighbor always leaves his truck at the end of his driveway on snow days. Still would have to find a way to climb over the mess. we have too many cars & not that long of a driveway to do that, but I thought it was a good idea. we only got 15 inches today. So glad the chicks are home safe

OMGosh that is a lotta chicks!!!

(As for the P.O, they'll deliver where it's safe for them to deliver. I don't know why we'd expect them to risk their lives, but I know some definitely would expect it. Personally, I'd rather they keep their lives and my bills!

Hey Sharon!! I'm so glad you and the chicks made it home safe and sound!! We got a ton of snow out here in Louisa and lost our power for over 12 hours - ugggh. My fingers are crossed tightly that your DH makes it home soon, safe and sound!!

Kisses to the new chicks - I hope to see you and them in the Spring at one of the events! (Minus the snow hehe)

Stay warm!

P.S. Weather man is saying we ought to get some warmer weather by this weekend - I sure hope so!
