Ideal is fantastic, too. I've ordered 5 different times (gotta love chick addiction

) and have never had a chick die. My feed store birds have died a day or two after I got them home, but my Ideal babies have been so healthy.

I got an order on the 29th of 6 blue silkies, 8 lavender keets, and 5 extra RIR packing peanuts and not only were they delivered the same day they hatched (woohoo!) but all were running around like crazies eating and drinking and chest bumping. Excellent babies!

I can't order from Cackle, they don't want to "do all the testing" that VA requires for shipping birds into the state. So, I don't feel like I missing out on anything.
I did get my fuzzy butts from Ideal. I ordered 6 Buff Brahmas---1 was DOA and 5 Golden Laced Wyndottes. One of my GLW's had a deformed skull, so her eye is down on her cheek. Plus, I had one runt GLW that died a few hours after arrival. I e-mailed Ideal and they credited me for the 3 chicks. My special needs GLW is called Greta and she is running around with the best of them. The brahmas are great chicks. Ideal CS was terrific.

Did you get them vaccinated, b/c if not great. We had ours vaccinated and they seemed to die alot faster and more of them.

Im sorry to hear of your loss...

We ordered 15 vaccinated (RIR, PlyBR, Alorp) from cackle in June.
16 arrived and survived.
