My DD's very ill, had emergency surgery, it's 5 days now in the hospital

There are different abx for different infections. You can ask the doctor to explain this. While one abx is good for treating one cootie, the other cooties may not be sensitive to it. When you take a throat culture, it is sent down to the lab and allowed to grow on a medium for a few hours or days and then they can determine what will kill it. She may be on several abx at a time. I hope she is better. And remember, wash your hands frequently after touching anything and before touching her. Its very easy to get other infections in a hospital. Its okay to remind staff to wash their hands too!

Good news! She's feeling so much better a day after the procedure. What a relief to get through that. She still needs pain meds but the pain has decreased a lot since that bridge was removed. Thanks again so very much for your caring and support.
