My Diet & Exercise Thread

I don't think Boyd is doing this diet thread anymore.

I started on 10/05 and in 3 weeks I dropped 10 lbs! Not really a diet, I just cut out alcohol and snacks. I added alot of fruit and veggies. I also pay attention to portion sizes now. I haven't started any exercise because I HATE IT, but I'll try harder to walk my mile or two. Wish I had a walking buddy!

Once she starts chemo this week I can concentrate on normal cooking and meal planning.
 
I've lost about 8 lbs since starting but not the right way. I just don't think about eating b/c of working outside all day so by the time I do get in it's late and I'm too tired to make something. When I do eat though it's usually something really healthy...oatmeal, salads, cut veggies, tuna/salmon etc. I've been exercising every day as well so hopefully I'll be able to get where I want to be by Christmas.

Yeah, I hope she's going to do good with the Chemo. Certainly am praying for her and that she doesn't have any bad side effects.

We'll still be here with growling stomachs whenever you're ready to rejoin us Boyd!

I've lost 30lbs since Aug.

I cut out all sodas, drink plenty of water, cut out a lot of bad carbs and stay away from processed foods. I did the low carb diet a few years ago and lost 75 lbs. I just bought a carb counter booklet from GNC and tried to keep my carbs under 60 a day. It was hard for someone who doesn't like eating a good portion of meat, or a hubby that can eat anything he wants............ I have other measures in place to help me keep my weight off this time, but I had lost those 75lbs in 6 months with regular food.
 
Well I used to beable to drop 10 pounds in 2 weeks time a few years back. Now its harder to lose wieght. I want to drop 10 pounds atleast so that I am at a healthy wieght for my age. Plus I want to fit in things

Its not so bad. I cut out all the snacks and soda. And eat only healthy things.
So far I am proud of what I accomplished.

I don't bother on excerising. Only because I do enough of it around outside and in that I don't need to.
 
How can I be on the South Beach Diet with greatly restricted alcohol consumption for TWO WEEKS, and manage to GAIN TWO POUNDS!?

I love my beer and wine, but I've tried everything and unfortunately I have found the only way for me to drop weight is absolutely NO alcohol whatsoever and then it works.
