I have to agree with those who've said by keeping the dog you're opening yourself up to liability. This dog doesn't just have the potential to bite he does bite. As a mom I would never have a dog like that around my children. The risks are just too great. I know he's always been friendly with them but wasn't he always friendly with the mailman til today? Is it really worth it?

i would never, never keep a dog that bit..never...or if by some strange reason i did keep the dog, it would be muzzled...its as simple as that..its now bitten twice...and he bit people that were NOT threats...so, this is why i say, if people want guard dogs they had better know what they are doing..because the dogs can end up biting innocent people... and,no way i would have a dog that bit around my children either...what if one of their friends come over to play...and he decides at that time he needs to "protect" your daughter aganist her friend?(he's already established that he will bite people that are not threats...) no way, sorry, its not worth the risk to me. and i would rather bring my pet i loved to the vets to get it done with me, then have him hauled off with strangers and be scared and then die that way.... i also have dogs (4 of them) and i love them very,very much and i would mourn and loose a part of me if they died....but, still, if one was a biter i would have to put him down...it would kill me though.

A dog that has a high prey drive is tolerable, a dog that has a high "bite humans" drive is not. That dog is a liability now, and because you KNOW he's bitten two people, it will be completely on you if he bites someone and they are seriously injured. No matter how much you like the dog, it's just not worth it.

That dog needs to go, ESPECIALLY since you have young children around.

my husband is a mail carrier... it is one thing that totaly really annoys me about his job. He gets bitten at least once a year, by people who dont contain their dogs... or the dogs uncontain themselves... lol.

I'd say bulk up on cesar milan's work and see how he deals with it.

i agree too... sadly enough. Dogs that bite are something we dont tolerate around here. Usually I can catch them before they get out of control, when i know theyre just thinking about it by their body language and beat it out of them. however, once it becomes a behavior the dog is out. thats just too dangerous.​

How many times have you heard on the news 'my dog was always kind/gentle/great with the kids until it did .....'? Luckily for you, he hasn't seriously injured anyone yet. The dog has already proved himself willing to bite on more than one occasion, how many more chances does he need?

Having a large dog is deterrent enough; having a dog that will bite is a liability. People find our dogs intimidating until they meet them. I would not have a vicious dog for my own sake as much as anyone else's; what would happen if emergency personnel needed to enter the home, or God forbid something happened to us and they needed caring for? We make the decisions about who can enter our home or property, not them.
