My Dog Killed My Duck And Now Im Crying

So sorry to hear! I know your mad at the dog, but I'm sure he didn't MEAN to hurt your feelings so badly.

Try not to blame yourself or the dog. These things happen and it just takes time to make it better.

It's hardly fair to the dog to get rid of her for what dogs do. I've stayed away from this thread because I knew I'd end up seeing something like this, but frankly I can't keep quiet. Punishing the dog and getting rid of her for doing something that comes naturally, especially to a breed such as that is like punishing a child for eating a cookie without asking.

I'm so sorry about what happened, but don't blame your dog. It was just being a dog and I know my dog feels guilty after she tries to attack something that she's not supposed to and I yell at her. Again I'm sorry about what happened.

Not a matter of guilt or blame. It's one of those life lessons that ends up being either learned well, or not at all. I've seen far too many dogs tossed out for this reason or that when they should not have been. This is not to say that I do not sympathize with the situation and feel sorry for the loss, but I want to be sure that both sides of the fence are clearly visible through the grass. If not for this time, then for down the road with another dog, cat or critter of some kind.

Ah well.. I've said my two cents worth. Sorry for your losses.

I Am So Sorry I Know How You Feel. I Had A Runner Duck As Well And I Raised Her Since The Day She Was Born, I Taught Her How To Bow Her Head And Pray. Haha. Her Name Was Ethel And One Day I Came Home From The Store And Couldn't Find Her, I Went Into The Coop Where She Slept And She Was Laying There Barely Breathing I Rushed Her To The Vet And She Had To Be Put To Sleep. I Promise Time Will Make You Feel Better It Always Does! Sorry For Your Loss.
