My dogs eat each others collars! Help

I'm going to get some tomorrow, I really hope this works.
For those who suggested a solid fence I can't do that. It would have to go over th driveway and gates would be a hassle. We would have to get rid of one of the dogs before we got a solid fence.

Discipline your dogs when they chew the collars. Its called raising dogs. Never let them start with a bad habit. you have to be on them 24/7 and be consistant (just like raising Kids), then when they are older dogs you dont ahve all the crad to deal with. Its like starting to teach a kid when they turn 17. too late.

GET a sprayer put some water and listerine in it, when the dog starts chewing on the collar, you in a command voice say to it, NO, then if it doesnt stop you spray in the snout, (not to worry it wont kill them even if it sprays in the eyeballs). BUT it will soon teach them to listen to your voice.

If it is just a regular cloth type collar soak it in white vinger over night then dry the collar dont wash out the vingar

! Or get BAN deo..... rub it all over the collars.... make sure it is unsented!

Let me know if it works for you. I have never seen it fail. The trick is you must apply it, let it dry and reapply once before putting the collars back on. I would also reapply once a day there after.

What kind of fence are you using (brand name?) call the maker and tell them the problem, they may have different collars they can send you for destructive dogs, but ask. Second the other part of this is collar chewing is very dangerous, dogs get their teeth stuck in the webbing of the collars and can get twisted and choke one or another of them, I have had a freind that had this happen (in just 15 mins playing with a friends lab in his yard while they were in the house), try to correct them when you see them, give them more and better toys in the yard while you aren't home to occupy their time (large knuckle bones from a butcher are the best)

I think the antipesperant may have worked, or they weren't in an active mood today. I will keep reaplying it. When will they outgrow this?
We have an innotek under ground system. From all the stuff I have seen on their site I don't think they make special collars for destructive dogs. I don't think they could get stuck in the collars because they are hard plastic. Here is a link to the collar we have.

what if you got some wire, like chicken wire maybe, and wrapped it around the collars? You'd have to make sure there are no sharp points, of course, but maybe the wire feel would discourage them from mouthing the collars. Good luck!

They won't outgrow that. It's just playing to them, and they'll play with each other until they die, in whatever way they feel like playing. That's just what playful dogs do.

You'll have to TRAIN them to not chew the collars. It may be fun to watch them play this way, but you're learning that it's expensive. Teach them to do something else instead.
