I'm thinking this has caused painful scare tissue and this Duck might never heal.

@CayugaJana
Could you post your pictorial about the Duck shoes made from can coozies?
Yes he was on the Baytril for about 5 days. Just like a week and a half ago he took it, seems it made some difference in the wounds to my eyes. But obviously you can’t give antibiotics for a long period of time so he’s been off them for a week already and we’ve been treating physically since then but think infection might be gone?Here is the post.... go to post #65.
Danielle, I haven’t had time to read every post. Have you given him any antibiotics?
Their pen is hard dirt, but I can leave him isolated until then, he’s got bubbles with him and whenever it’s pool cleaning day I still take him out to let him swim with the ladies. He just hates being in that pen he wants to run around and be messy lolWhen he heals will he be on hard packed ground or some type of bedding in the pen. I think so type of bedding would be best until his feet get good a tough.
Yeah because before he took the baytril, my boyfriend worked on him once like a week before meds came in the mail. But I’m not sure exactly what he accomplished when he worked on him that day. And after that he was just bandaged, and once the meds came we gave it to him twice a day for about 5 days, and during that time I didn’t really work on him. But a week after we stopped giving him the antibiotics we unbandaged and finally the scabs were just starting to peel off and come off on their own so I removed them and then that pic I posted the other day is how his feet look nowGreat.... that’s kinda what I was thinking. That if he was on antibiotics then it would just be the scab left to heal. And not scab+infection.![]()
You might want to consider looking into deep litter method for their pens. Hard packed ground is really hard on their feet. That, combined with his weight and ducks being so gross and walking around in their own poo= bumblefoot.Their pen is hard dirt, but I can leave him isolated until then, he’s got bubbles with him and whenever it’s pool cleaning day I still take him out to let him swim with the ladies. He just hates being in that pen he wants to run around and be messy lolunless you’re saying put bedding all over the big pen?
Hey!!! It’s been forever I know!! How are you?? And your babies?
