My drakes penis won’t go back in

My Drake has had problems with his penis before, but it was red and swollen, and wasn’t the corkscrew part and after he gets done mating, it’s usually out for about 30 minutes and will go in on its own. Now the corkscrew part is looks dried out and will not go back in. I have them in the bath, but what more can I do?

As some of you may know I have a disabled duck in my Pen with a permanently gimpy leg. Because of this I decided to make a bachelor pad for my drakes so they wouldn’t hurt her when mating.

Anyways, a few weeks ago I moved the males into their run and they were doing great until tonight. Donald has had a history of being noticeably slow when it came to pulling his phallus back in his body but tonight it was out completely. A prolapsed phallus.

Using sterile lubricant I slowly moved in back inside and left it. Within a few minutes he wiggled it out again. So about...

I don't have a drake, but before I knew the two were females, these were our first ducks, so I did a lot of research.

While taking the advice above, try to keep him where he can't hear the hens while he's being treated.

Soaking in cool, refreshing water may also help. I haven't had a drake get a prolapse but my mini dachshund had one and I placed him in a cool tub of water and let him soak, and it went down on its own.

The tip of his penis still sticks out a little bit but has gone in, he has this issue all the time. I think it’s just something I’m gonna have to look out for

Happen quite often it seems. Hopefully with fall into winter things will settle down and a good break from mating will help.
