my duck cant walk right and i cant figure out whats wrong

Hey everyone I'm not sure if this topic has already been covered but i need some help. me and my dad found a duck down by our family pond and it can swim fine but cant seem to walk. when it tries to walk it either tips over forward and does a forward roll before getting stuck on its back and not being able to turn over or it just falls over and cant get back up on its own. it is a female we think around 1 year old and we want to release it but there are many cats dogs and other preadators around our place that would kill it given the chance. any help would be much appreciated.

Are you in the US if this is a female wild duck you might get in touch with you state DNR and ask for rehabbers close by.

im in new zealand and i dont know of any paces nearby who might be able to help but thanks for the quick relpy

If the duck is full grown it would sugest that it has managed to avoid predators. If the duck has been physically injured you could potentially help it. Do a close inspection and look for injury. If you can't find a broken leg or wound you probably can't help it. Other causes that you can't great could be genetic disorders, nutritional deficit ect.

Is this a wild duck? @Kiwibird is in NZ maybe they know of someone that can help. This duck may have eaten something toxic. With the symptoms you described.
