My duck has a hole in its foot

Just found out that my ancona duck has a hole in her foot. I am assuming she stepped on some thing sharp

What is the best thing to do ?

If it's not bleeding there's not much you can do.

Yeah it doesnt look bad. Must have healed up no problem. So thats good! Im guessing it happened a while ago

Funny, I just found out yesterday that my WH has the same thing, a bit bigger than this actually. She's also pigeon toed on one leg though, so she's a bit clumsy and probably snagged it on something.

My Pekin duck has a hole in the pad part of the underneath side of the foot. It looks like a tiny hole with an area around it about the size of a dime that is swollen. The little hole was brown so I thought it might be a sticker. I soaked her foot in Epson salts for about 30 minutes then looked at it again. It was cleaner but didn't seem any better. I was able to clean the hole out with a needle (can't believe that duck sat still for all this!!) and got a little puss out but not enough to make up that much swelling. I cleaned it again, put Neosporin on it (without pain relief) and put a bandaid on her foot. I'll look again tomorrow.

My husband thinks that the area needs to be lanced, what do ya'll think?
