The fact that they have their own jukebox (last picture) is a little disturbing.. I don't even have one of those.. Question is, can they use it?

Nice place though.. Really top notch for sure.

I have a question. Do your ducks stay within their palace, or do they get out and free range and fly around? I have 3 that think they are chickens, but I truly am hoping to fix them a little separate place of their own. I have a female mallard, 1 1/2 years, and a Rouen - male, and a muscovy, female, both hatched this year. The mallard flys but not often. The other two love to take off and fly over the next pasture, trying to give me a heart attack, but they always come back. I was hoping to make them a run with a cover, but wonder if that is the wrong thing to do, since they love to fly.
Of course I can just leave them alone and hope for the best, but I just wonder if some keep the ducks penned all the time, so they can't take off and fly.

well they do get to free range now.. our property is chain link fenced in tho..... first thing in the morning the door gets opened .. they dont really fly much.(yet anyway).. the only time I see them fly is if they cant catch up to me quick enough...then they get put back in their pen @ nite. They do go in and swim and eat during the day but they do love being out...could u just pen them at nite?? (peace of mind for you ) I know mine feel safe in their pen.. if they see an airplane or big hawk , they will hi-tail it to their pen...lol

My ducks are penned at night. There have been a couple of times when two of them get up on the roof that covers the roosting pens, and I can't get them down. But most of the time I catch them walking around when it is bed time, and if they are not already in the pen, I scoot them in. I'm just wishing I had a place separate for them, with their own housing and swimming pool inside a run, which I would want to be predator proof (run covered, etc.) I was just mainly thinking about what if I kept them penned all the time, so they couldn't fly at all.
I absolutely have to get a place fixed...predator proof...for the chickens and 3 ducks and 4 guineas. I still hope for another nice extended vacation to Colorado before we get too old to even plan one, much less do it. And I'm getting panicky because I love my fowl too much to leave them, even though we have someone to let them out of the pen in the morning, and put them all back up at night. However.....that really is asking a lot of someone to do that, and I won't do it. If they are already penned all the time while we are gone, it would just be a matter of checking food and water and picking up eggs, and that would be easy enough.
I guess I better just leave well enough alone. They don't mind being penned with the chickens at night...fact is the muscovy loves to go look for bugs in the chickens feathers. I lol when I saw that for the first time.
Your place looks so heavenly! Is it easy to keep clean? I could prop myself in your chair with a nice cool drink and a book, and sit there for hours, I think, reading and watching the duckys playing in the pool. How lucky you are to have a place like that! And you really did it by yourself? Good grief! LOL You ought to go into business! Come to Texas and you are hired!

chickfan .. well i have not left mine yet !! we have a trip comin up in a couple months and I tooo am somewhat panicky...But I guess i should fee okay that they have the pen they do in that it is preditor proof and somewhat large,,, but Im sure they wiil be bummed not being able to free range.. I have a niece that would be able to take care of the ducks like I do but she lives 12 hrs away

figures.... but I know someone that can at least check on them and feed them... I never imagined being soooo attatched to an animal... ugghhh....

I cannot get over how amazing this is. Absolutely beautiful. I have no doubt that if your address were posted, you would look outside one day to see several BYCer's partying in your ducky hut. There is room for a tiki bar in there, no?

LOL! I picture us sitting in chairs, hair up in a towel, flowers being delivered, music flowing....and enjoying the heck out of our visit with each other, and those duckys, flapping around in their pool.
I truly lost my breath when I saw the pictures. Had DH come to see....of course, his first thought was that it probably cost a million dollars! LOL He freaks when I spend money on my chickens, but he has finally learned it is going to happen whether he freaks or not, so he is sort of going with the flow! And I am trying to be careful. But some things just have to be bought, ya' know?
