What did the xrays show?

X-rays showed pneumonia. Vet initially thought she was egg bound, but there were no issues with her lower half. He said pneumonia could have been caused by a more serious underlying disease.

I have the 2 runner ducks & 2 geese. I raised them all together since day 1. I’ve developed such a close bond with my girls. Maybelle does look very observant. She’s always been my best egg layer. If you’ve never tried runner duck eggs- they’re the best! They don’t have that “gamey” taste that so many other duck eggs do.

Have you had to euthanize any birds before? I’ve heard some vets have more barbaric methods than others.

I have not euthanized a bird.
I can assure you that I will not be paying a vet to do what I can do in my own yard though.

As long as it is done quickly the end result is the same.

The last one I took in the vet gave Crookie Monster a shot and he just went to sleep.

I have Runners they have eggs very similar to chicken eggs much different than my Muscovys

I recently had to euthanize an EE I used deluthralphies method with the starter fluid it was very easy and fast not easy for me but I could never chop a head off Are you sure your ready has she had all the tube feeding mix?
