After getting your drake and cleaning him up place him in a warm area inside a dog crate so he can get over shock and keep his wounds clean.

Then you need to address your set up. Hardware cloth is the only thing that will keep this from happening again Coons can reach in and not only do what we're seeing with your drake but literally ripped off the head trying to drag them through the fence.

I hope your drake heals bless his heart he looks painful

Thanks K could think what that was you rec. the chlorhexidine. Better than using soap and water saline?

Sterile water and soap would be better than nothing, but it won't kill bacteria. Walmart has both betadine and chlorhexidine. Personally, I prefer chlorhexidine.

Do not apply ointment until after you do a thorough inspection and cleaning.

FYI, do not use antibacterial soap because it may contain phenols which are toxic to birds. Also do not use peroxide or rubbing alcohol.

Now i wanna go home and cuddle fancy again. He got attacked again, i can't figure out who's doing it. It started around him becoming a raging drakeduck hornball and stella <new cat> coming in. I'm pretty sure its not liam, cause I'd think there would be bite marks...

Can you take him to a vet?

If not, you need to figure out where the fracture is and splint it. Did you check his entire body for injuries?

Is it possible that he did this to himself?? I mean, could he have reached his head thru a hole and tore his own feathers off trying to get back out?
I don't see how any predator would have done that, all the way around the neck, and not caused more damage. If the wing is broken, he could have flapped alot trying to free himself.
