Aww, they're cute!
Well my chickens like to eat egg...¬¬
They get lots of kitchen scraps, such as watermelon shells (or whatever you call them) which they will peck completely clean. Ice cream and yoghurt are also welcome in the summer
And they love grapes!

Oh yeah I took a half a watermelon out to them when it was super hot and they ate it rind and all..I read on BYC to do that

Thanks for asking that question by the way, I just thought Edith and Sybil started to squat because they were getting used to us but there you go! I didn't even connect it with the fact they started laying not long after.

Thanks for the photos...are Easter Eggers a small or large breed? We have two Pekin Bantams and we would like a couple more but there are only two breeders in my area and neither have pullets, so we thought we might look for another small and quiet breed (we are in a unit so we can't have large breeds).

So is squatting exactly what it sounds like? You walk up to them, they do not run, and just sit on the ground? I am trying to understand the lingo of it all. Thanks,

Kind of like that, except they don't sit down. They kind of crouch and hold their wings out a little stiffly.
