I love having them!

My salmon favorelle/Orpington cockerel was beautiful.

He sure was a handsome guy. Did something get him, or was he sold?

I gave him away to the man that is building my new coop. He said they lost one that looked like him.
His girl came and caught him. He was very gentle also. My salmon favorelle is the gentlest hen but she allow my orpingtonto over breed her. I have an apron on her now. I had her segregated but she kept flying back over to him. He had extra toes and feathers down the shank.

A little update:
After Sunshine getting big enough for the boys to chase, she got some wear on her back. Not good, but considering her parent stock, I'm not surprised.

But, she still has an amazingly low louse count despite never being treated.

Are they feather lice, not blood suckers?

I've heard of fogging with pymethrin (you can buy concentrate at tractor supply). Walmart here in FL sells foggers for mosquitos and we have actually thought about getting one and using the pymethrin in it in our aviaries. No mite or louse problem yet, fingers crossed. Some pigeons brought in feather lice once. We went the powder route and it did not work for us. We spray under the wings now with pymethrin if we are selling any aviary birds, just in case.

Yes, feather lice. I'll be using Permethrin spray soon, I think. Their cases are low enough I'm not worried about 'em.

Jazzy is lookin' good. She has beautiful blue eggs that put my regular EE to shame.

Unfortunately, I don't have either sultan males or EE males in my future flock plans, so I doubt there'll be much more progress unless I get a breed pen up... I do really like these two girls and would just love to get more. They seem to have gotten the sultan fluff without the sultan's lack of brains.
