Sumi is a great mentor for a first time hatcher! Without Sumi I would ahve been lost in my first hatch!

I hope your babies work out ok!

I assisted on several of my first timers, they grew up pretty fast and healthy....and all boys.

When i assisted, I broke away the shell away from the beak to allow them to breath. After that, I let them do the rest of the work. Make sure she doesnt dry out or the shell could stick to her. When the yolk is absorbed they get really active and push out. Sometimes it can take several hours for the yolk to absorb.

this is the only one that has made to it hatching point out of 6 eggs so i'm desperate for it to be ok.
Yes Sumi is very helpful, I wouldn't be this far in the hatch without him,

aww so glad yours worked out :)

This little one hadn't pipped and had been chirping for over 24 hours so under everyones advice I made a peel hole at 2pm yesterday. anyway after wetting the membrane every 2 hours, (I got literally no sleep lol) it is no closer to hatching so i'm slowly helping her by chipping bits of shell off.

just had another look and she is almost out, got her head, neck and 1 wing out. i' praying she will make it. it's up to her now

That pic is not clear enough, sorry! I know I'm a pain, but can you get a close up of that membrane? If you saw a blood vessel she'll need a bit longer in the egg, so tell her to stop looking at you like that and be patient.

And BTW I'm a woman

sorry! :) she's almost out, she's got a wing and a leg out and is trying so hard. I've come away from her now. she's chirping away to herself.

should I just leave her?

Impatient! LOL Look into shell to where her belly is and see if she's finished absorbing the yolk. Remove more of the shell if you need to. if she hasn't you'll have to put her in a cup, but let's see how she's doing first.

right I can't see any yolk but I can see something that looks like a cord? its stuck to her belly and the shell. I could see a few red blood vessels in the bottom of the shell.

That "cord" is normal. How big are the blood vessels? Can you try and keep her in the shell a bit longer? What you can do if she won't cooperate is wrap her in a clean damp cloth and place her upright in a cup.

I can't get a picture as I only saw them for like a second because she was scrambling around so much. it was bigger than the one that was above her head, it is about 1cm long I would say?
she is really trying to get out, I think I shall try putting her in a cup in a damp cloth
