my eggs are 25 days old today and started chirping. please help, this is my first time incubating

Hi all, an aupdate on little chick - we've called her petal (if she's a boy it won't be getting changed haha). She's so much stronger today, she's got her head up and is standing and walking now. Her legs have straightened up but one of her foot is still curled so she's got a shoe on at the moment and managing to walk quite well. She is very active and loves pecking at my finger nails and rings haha. Will post pics when I get on the computer. Thank you all so much for the help, advice and encouragment. She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!!!!!!!!!! You are all stars.

I'm so happy to hear that! Can you post another pic of her sometime so we can see what she looks like now?

And, I wanted ask you when I saw your first post, but we've been so busy with the chick, I decided to get that out the way first. Tell me about that gorgeous horse in your avatar? (Or is it pony? Can't tell LOL)

here she is - little petal. sorry it has taken me so long to reply, been so busy. petal is doing great, as you can see by the photo her legs have straightened out and her toes have. she sleeps a lot but I think that's just her she is just the most perfect little chick bless her. apart from she will only drink water off a teaspoon! lol. I leave a saucer in there, ive even dunked her beak in it but she will only drunk off a teaspoon haha.

thanks Sumi, that horse is Tallulah, she's 5 years old, I got her as an unbroken 2 year old. do you have horses?

Awww, she's adorable!

And that horse is simply beautiful. I love the colouring. I don't have any horses at the moment, I used to years ago and I used to ride lots, but I haven't for awhile. I miss it...

Last night she was so sleepy and wouldn't open her eyes or lift her head. She would just tweet when I spoke to her. I gave her some sugar water and tried to give her some scrambled egg but she was too weak to eat. She couldn't stand either. I sat up with her all night and she sadly passed away at 5am I am devestated. I don't know what has happened, she was fine that morning and afternoon, she was sleepy but I thought that was just her as she had been sleepy since she was born. I am so upset, my poor little petal.

Awe, I'm so sorry!!! That is terrible. I had the same thing happen...mine was just a few days old and he wouldn't drink either. I dunked his beak and everything and he just wouldn't. Then he just went down hill real fast and passed away too. It's so heartbreaking! Hang in there and just know that you helped her and at least gave her a chance! You did everything right!!
