yea, I only like friendly birds .I feed twice a day. I dont want food 24/7 so rats and other varmints dont come around .the pen is about 30x60 never measured it
had to stop with the big self feeder bucket full just for that reason Shawn. I fill 8 pt. bowls with feed every morning. They eat when they choose. Also give them some floating catfish food in a big pan of water. That is the Whistlers favorite and a cheap high protein boost in winter. They all also love fresh plucked rye grass in winter
Thanks chickenaresweet . The only birds Ive ever had that were scared of me were Blue wing teal I got 2yrs ago, might have been wild birds cause all they did was pace the fence. Thats funny you say that Donna cause rye grass is what I been giving mine
(another good thing about the south) Kansaskid I live in the city so cant get much bigger (Unless the dog dies, then I see another 40x70 in the back yard) One of my friends has at least a 50x125 with a12x20 pond in it but most all of his birds stay in 1/3 of it by the pond. So even if I had room like he does out in the country I would rather have two or three these sizes instead of one giant one (please, please dont get onto me Kanga
) I can catch them easy enough in these also if need be, To be honest these are my pets.I spend alot of time with them moreso in the winter. I guess theres about 40-50 in that particuler pen. Yea pineapplemama if I had to pick my favorite pen its my treeducks.

hahaha.. we have the one big pen and what you don't see is the 3 small turkey pens, their old duck pen, 1 small chicken pen and 1 small quail pen... We have 10 acres though. We planning on removing the babies and putting them in a pen 1/2 this size for the ones we are going to sell! and I have a few smaller pens in work..
Our big one is like being in a zoo exhbit but the birds are getting to where they come up to you when they know you have the floating food.... spoiled little ducks! all 131 of them and growing
